look forward to -ing「~するのを楽しみに待つ」
I'm looking forward to seeing you again next month.(来月また会えるのを楽しみにしています。)
このtoは、to不定詞のtoではなく前置詞のtoです。 (×)look forward to see
be used to -ing「~することに慣れている」
He is used to living alone in a big city.(彼は大都市で一人暮らしをすることに慣れている。)
get used to -ing(~することに慣れる)という、状態の変化を表す形もよく使われます。
She gradually got used to speaking in front of large audiences.(彼女は次第に大勢の聴衆の前で話すことに慣れていった。)
最重要の区別:used to do(助動詞的なused to)との違い
be used to -ing とよく似た形に、used to do(以前はしたものだ、以前はだった)という表現があります。
He is used to living alone.(彼は一人暮らしに慣れている。)
He used to live alone.(彼は以前一人暮らしをしていた。)
cannot help -ing「~せずにはいられない」
I couldn't help laughing when I saw his funny face.(彼のおもしろい顔を見たとき、私は笑わずにはいられなかった。)
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw his funny face.
on -ing「~するとすぐに」
On arriving at the station, she called her mother to let her know she was safe.(駅に着くとすぐに、彼女は無事を知らせるために母に電話した。)
= As soon as she arrived at the station, ...
feel like -ing「~したい気分だ」
I feel like eating something sweet after lunch.(昼食後、私は何か甘いものを食べたい気分だ。)
be worth -ing「~する価値がある」
This old museum is worth visiting at least once.(この古い美術館は少なくとも一度は訪れる価値がある。)
worthのあとは動名詞を能動の形のまま使い、「~される価値がある」という意味でも受動態にしない点に注意しましょう(this museum is worth visiting = it is worth visiting this museum、visitingの意味上の目的語がthis museum)。
She spends about two hours studying English every day.(彼女は毎日約2時間、英語の勉強に時間を使っている。)
be busy -ing「~するのに忙しい」
He is busy preparing for his final exams this week.(彼は今週、期末試験の準備で忙しい。)
There is no -ing「~
There is no telling what will happen in the future.(将来何が起こるかを言い当てることはできない。)
= It is impossible to tell what will happen in the future.

When I heard the sad news, I couldn't help to cry.
When I heard the sad news, I couldn't help crying.(その悲しい知らせを聞いたとき、私は泣かずにはいられなかった。)
